Intel Core Ultra 5 235 debuts in Q1'25 as a powerful 14-core desktop processor tailored for high-performance PCs and workstations.
The Intel Core Ultra 5 235 combines six performance cores and eight efficient cores in the Arrow Lake family, delivering a balanced mix of single-thread burst and sustained multi-thread throughput. With a peak boost frequency of 5 GHz on performance cores and a performance-core base of 3.4 GHz, it is engineered for demanding desktop workloads.
Featuring 24 MB of Smart Cache and an LGA 1851 (Socket V1) package, the processor offers responsive latency and broad platform compatibility. The chip supports up to 192 GB of DDR5 memory at 6400 MHz in a dual-channel configuration and includes ECC support for reliability in professional environments.
Power management is tuned for desktops, with a base power of 65 W and a maximum turbo power of 121 W, allowing strong burst performance while maintaining sensible thermal characteristics. Thermal monitoring and idle-state controls further help manage energy and heat under mixed loads.
AI capabilities are integrated on both CPU and NPU levels: Intel AI Boost and support for frameworks such as DirectML, OpenVINO, ONNX RT, Windows ML and WebNN enable up to 27 TOPs total processor performance, including 13 TOPs from the NPU and 6 TOPs GPU performance. Windows Studio effects are supported for enhanced content creation.
The on-board Intel Graphics (3 Xe-cores) provides flexible display outputs—HDMI 2.1, eDP 1.4b and DisplayPort 2.1—driving up to four displays with DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.5 support, and a dynamic GPU frequency up to 2000 MHz for light to moderate graphics tasks without a discrete card.
Connectivity and platform features include up to 24 PCIe lanes (PCIe 4.0/5.0), DMI 4.0, Thunderbolt 4 support, Intel vPro eligibility and an extensive set of security and virtualization technologies such as Intel AES-NI, CET, Intel VT-x/VT-d, Intel Hardware Shield and Total Memory Encryption. These features make the 235 well suited to business, virtualization and secure deployment scenarios.
Typical use cases for the Intel Core Ultra 5 235 include content creation and video editing with Quick Sync Video acceleration, software development and compilation, multitasking-heavy office and pro applications, and AI-accelerated inference on the desktop. The processor is an appealing choice for builders who want strong CPU performance, integrated AI and modern I/O on a mainstream desktop platform.
